Certifying Your Dead Stars 12" and CD

JerseyWave Records and endpop (that’s me) put together a limited edition 12" and CD that comes with a digital collectible, known as an NFT, that we minted and created under the WAX blockchain. What we did not anticipate is that a free NFT is too hard to pass up in this day and age. And much to our surprise, despite all the efforts I made to make sure the 12" owners got to them first, the first drop sold out quick! OK, that’s the bad news…

Before YOU get bummed out on the bad news, let me state the good news. You can still register the 12" and get an NFT even though the original drop was swooped down upon by collectors and NFTs are already on the secondary market. You can find the 12" / CD here, by the way. And I’m going to show you how to register for your exclusive NFT. It’s not hard. Next time we release something I guess a link to an explainer page might have to happen, as NFTs are relatively new to music fans.

Step 1: Scan the inside of the record or CD and fill out the form.

Inside of the 12" and the CD you will find several QR codes. Get used to seeing these on endpop releases, art, shirts, etc. QR codes are a simpler way of pointing to a site rather than https://endpop.art/works . URL addresses look ugly to me, so I avoid them when I can. Some folks think QR codes are ugly too. To some degree, I agree, but I have incorporated them into my art several times. The 12" and the CD are examples. Scan them! :)

One of the QRs leads to a page where the lyrics to all of the songs are, among other things (the one on the outside). This is also a page you may want to bookmark, as there could be other hidden things added to the record in the future. That’s right, someday, you may take that record off the shelf, decide to scan the QR code, and find that there’s a free mix in there you had not heard. And the same applies to the other QR codes, where the NFT registration page is (on the inside of the record of course).

BUT BEFORE YOU FILL OUT THE FORM… Get that WAX Address, ready.

Because I’m nice (sometimes), I’m going to put that URL here. When you scan the artwork on the Dead Stars 12" or CD, it is this registration page you will see. And there’s a nifty form there for you to fill out. All you have to do is paste your WAX address, your email, and choose whether you are registering a CD or a 12" (if you have both CD and Record, or more than one, this step must be repeated as each registration makes for one personally minted NFT)

You fill that out, and will get an email that tells you your NFT will be minted shortly. At first, I thought this was enough to make sure only people who got the email would grab the NFTs. I was wrong. Hence the bad news…

You have to register your Record or CD. By being on that list, I can then make sure YOU get your NFT. Otherwise, every time I mint them, they are going to go fast, and it seems there are always people ready to pounce on them. So while the initial batch is gone, it is NOT too late to register your record. So please do it. I want you to have the NFT. Even if you think NFTs are silly, consider the following…

One of those free NFTs is already on the secondary market at 16.00 within days of that drop. That’s over the value of the CD itself. So by having yours, it increases the value of the physical product. NFTs are not going away. I’m not going to stop making them, because in them I have found a path to something unique for Abox and my art in general. So take advantage.
